10/18- Busy is Back!
Busy is Back
6th grade got to hear about Science Fair from the old hands in 7th grade who shared some tips.
8th grade had a beautiful retreat day at Rosemont College Lead by Mr. O’Sullivan and Dr. Kellich.
6th grade is identifying minerals with great focus in science class.
When Mrs. Myers substitutes, we memorize what she wants us to know before getting to her.
5th and 6th graders rocking the prepositions song and trying on the 207 vibe.
Reminders:
Pre-K and Kindergarten students are organizing a drive to support our troops stationed abroad. We are looking to collect the following items: individually wrapped snacks: beef jerky, protein bars, trail mix, candy bars; Chef Boyardee or cup of soups, and travel size toiletries (toothpaste, shampoo, sun lotion, etc.). Donations can be sent in now through the Mission Party on the 29th.
November is All Religions month, when we celebrate the central themes of love and goodness that all religions share. We plan to have a panel of people from different faiths briefly share what is special about their religion to them and a favorite celebration or practice that they enjoy about their religion. If you or someone you know would like to be part of this in any way, please contact Julie Myers at jmyers@holychildacademy.com .
Please see email sent 10/20/21 with the subject line "Give Mom The Day Off" from trichards@holychildacademy.com for more detailed information on the day.

Lots to Cover
8th grade has been working their entry
in the National Math Festival's IMAGINE MATH CLASS video competition
through which they were challenged to imagine the future of math class in an anti-racist world.
After reverently leading the school in a Founders’ Day Prayer Service, 6 th grade tested out what they think 7th grade will be like.
The following day we continued the Founders’ Day celebration. Middle School student ran games and activities for the students in grades N2 -4.
This group of Allen, Sam, Nevaeh, Emmy, and Sophia helped the rotating groups decorate bags to be filled and shared with kids who need some healthy lunches.

Blessing of the Animals/ Math/ HCA Men and Kids Outing
On Monday the 7th grade lead the community
in the Blessing of the Animals Prayer Service
for our annual celebration of the feast of St. Francis.
It is always nice to start the day with the extended community of our families.
In a way it reminds us of how we too are a bigger family
called to love and celebrate one another.
Grade 5 Math students enjoy brushing up on their math facts while playing Multiplication War.
This is a fun, easy way to practice their facts with them at home.
All you need is a deck of cards!
